Meet The Team
Husain Badat – Cricket South Africa (CSA) Level 2 Coach
He represented his school, Westville Boys High in cricket (amongst other sports) and walked away with the school’s Sportsman of the Year award in 2007.
He also represented KwaZulu-Natal at high school level, and made it into the Dolphins Academy team.
Not surprisingly, his talent attracted overseas interest and he was soon contracted to play in the Central Lancashire League and later in the South Devon first division, in England. He spent three seasons there and won the Best Bowling award in 2012. Husain also represented Delta Cricket Club from the age of 7 and captained the Delta 1st team. He has now moved over to Clares Cricket Club whereby he plays a supporting role to the first team but primarily focuses on the development of the youngsters in the second team.
He has always enjoyed teaching sport to children and therefore decided to pursue a career in coaching. Channeling his love for cricket and using his wealth of local and international experience, he develops and enhances the skills of aspiring cricketers.
He has completed a Personal Training degree with the International Sports Science Association and then furthered his learning with the National Academy of Sports Science where he then specialized as a Youth Exercise Specialist. Since then, he designed a KidFit exercise programme, which is aimed at developing physical and mental fitness in children.
Coaching Philosophy:

Coaching Philosophy:
“Cricket is a lovely game, played by gentlemen. With that being said, it’s a game which needs you to be hard on yourself, and set high standards for yourself, and for your team. Coaching Philosophy:
“My aim as a coach is to help nurture and improve each kid as much as I can from the knowledge I’ve gained over my years of cricket so far whilst ensuring the kid is having fun. Besides coaching I like to try and make sure that the relationship between coach and player is very understanding and being able to communicate with each other is smooth and easy.
I believe that nothing is impossible if you work for it and the dark hours you put in will make the difference”.
